The Chiltern Guesthouse is situated just 300 yards from the sea and sands and 800 yards from the harbour, where you will find all the traditional attractions of a Yorkshire east coast resort.
Just outside the guest house there are views across the River Esk to the historic Whitby Abbey.
Cross the famous old swing bridge and take a walk along the cobbled streets with its quaint shops and you will be taken to the bottom of the famous 199 Abbey Steps.
At the Abbey itself you can visit the 6th Century Church and the new visitors’ centre.
Why not also take some time out to visit the Captain Cook Museum?
Just a few miles from Whitby you can visit the 'Heartbeat' village of Goathland with the North Yorkshire Railway running through. The station has been used as a location in the film 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'.
All around the Whitby area there is plenty to see and do, with the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors and York being well within traveling distance.
